Le désir d’explorer la thématique du Nord a poussé deux finissantes de l’Université Concordia à réunir des artistes émergent·e·s, invité·e·s à exprimer leurs réflexions et interprétations personnelles intrigantes et étudiées. Les artistes, sélectionné·e·s selon leur intérêt pour le thème et leurs approches distinctes et complémentaires, ont participé à une table ronde animée par Daniel Chartier, Directeur du Laboratoire international d’étude multidisciplinaire comparée des représentations du Nord. Par le biais de cette discussion, leur projet aura progressé jusqu’à l’événement performatif.
Un automne imprégné de conceptions et de matérialités du Nord. L’espace d’une galerie dans l’épreuve du discours territorial, identitaire, stéréotypé, temporel, mythique : les multiples perceptions qui composent Nord Performance s’effleurent et se percutent.

The desire to explore the theme of the North led two graduating students from Concordia University to bring together emerging artists, invited to express their personal reflections and interpretations—both intriguing and well-researched. The artists, selected based on their interest in the theme and their distinct yet complementary approaches, took part in a roundtable discussion led by Daniel Chartier, Director of the International Laboratory for the Comparative Multidisciplinary Study of Representations of the North. Through this discussion, their project evolved toward the performative event.
An autumn infused with conceptions and materialities of the North. A gallery space put to the test by territorial, identity-based, stereotypical, temporal, and mythical discourse: the multiple perceptions that make up Nord Performance brush against and collide with one another.
